Seed History and Growing Tips

Native to the Sonoran desert of Mexico. Grown from Native Seed Search stock.

Growing Tips

4 to 8 days to germinate. Sprawling bush/semi-climbing growth habit - more prolific with a trellis, but not necessary. Extremely drought tolerant. Does not like overwatering. Cut water once established. Be attentive to harvest timing - beans left on the vine too long may pop open/sprout/rot. Sandy loam. South facing. Northern California coastal.

Mediterranean Climate

The Mediterranean climate is characterized by warm dry summers and mild, wet winters. As a result, areas with this climate receive almost all of their precipitation during their winter, autumn and spring seasons, and may go anywhere from 4 to 6 months during the summer without having any significant precipitation.
